Client Profile: Fit 2b Well
Bringing Mind, Body and Spirit Together for Happier, Healthier Clients
Julie Lother knows health and well-being. After all, she’s an Integrative Movement Life Coach and Founder of Fit 2b Well, where she takes a holistic approach to bring the mind, body and spirit together.
Her biomechanics background helps provide clients with proper form in fitness and everyday life, whether for posture, sitting, driving, standing or walking. “I make sure my clients are not making moves that would hurt them, repetitive-wise,” says Julie.
Julie started Fit 2b Well in 2008 after the economic downturn that year resulted in a change of employment. She set her sights on creating a business to continue to serve her clients and now contracts with her former employer, North Memorial, to provide programs for their team members and patients. Fit 2b Well manages and staffs the fitness center at North Memorial and Maple Grove Hospital. They also do personal training, massage and life coaching. Julie also works with the North Memorial Minnetonka clinic to provide fitness, nutrition and lifestyle services for their executive health and concierge program.
Fit 2b Well does therapeutic massage and bodywork, such as moves for stretching and flexibility, in addition to training and life coaching. “Our combination of services differentiates us because I haven’t been to places that do all of that,” says Julie. “I take a person-to-person approach because everyone isn’t the same. When you work with me, you get 110%.”
In addition to their caring, personal touch, Fit 2b Well takes a top-notch approach. For example, before COVID-19, they used aromatherapy towels specially cooled for post-workout transitions, and Julie would do a little bodywork with clients after each session to help them recover quicker and reduce stress.
The COVID-19 pandemic heavily impacted fitness centers, including Fit 2b Well. They pivoted to virtual training, which opened up more opportunities. Now clients have more flexibility for appointments and frequency. And Julie can do quick Zoom meetings as well as walk and talk meetings on her treadmill. She’s also taken on consultations for bariatric patients to talk through their health and wellness goals pre- and post-surgery.
One thing she’s seen more of due to the pandemic? Patients with neck and shoulder issues due to poor workspace ergonomics as more people work longer hours from home at their kitchen table or while sitting on the couch. Prolonged sitting is also a huge issue. Julie’s goal is to help remote workers incorporate moving and stretching throughout their day.
The past year has also stirred Julie to consider how the Fit 2b Well brand has evolved. Voom Creative previously worked with Julie to create her brand identity and a brochure. During the branding process, the business audit was instrumental for Julie to fine-tune what she wanted Fit 2b Well to be. Now that her company has shifted, she’s ready for another business analysis to guide her future direction. “Voom’s brand process creates clarity around what you want to do and is an eye-opening experience,” says Julie. “I can’t wait to work with Voom again. I love working with Melissa and her team.”
