MNHEFA

Background

The Minnesota Higher Education Facilities Authority (MNHEFA) is a government agency that assists Minnesota-based institutions of higher education in the construction, financing, and refinancing of capital projects. For almost 50 years, MNHEFA has been able to assist through issuances of tax-exempt or taxable bonds or notes and lending the proceeds to the institutions.

MNHEFA enlisted Voom Creative to redevelop its website to achieve a smooth user experience and a fresh look that incorporates the State of Minnesota’s branding. This involved savvy design and development to ensure seamless navigation throughout the site as well as detailed infographics, iconography and graphics to communicate the organization’s history, data and processes.

MNHEFA had outgrown their simple, off-brand website which had not been updated in years. They needed a robust and functional site to serve their multiple audiences. The goals were to develop an easy-to-navigate site that informed and engaged these distinct audiences and to adopt all of the State of Minnesota’s branding into the site while still maintaining MNHEFA’s own identity.

We created a design that utilized the State of Minnesota’s branding but added elements that were unique to MNHEFA, such as custom icons and graphics. The new design allowed users to recognize MNHEFA as a Minnesota state agency while also showcasing MNHEFA’s own brand.

We kept development top-of-mind to ensure website functionality and ease of comprehension due to the vast amount of content. The result was an easy-to-navigate site married with an attractive look and feel.
